PETA Protesting Mars Inc.
PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has begun a campaign against Mars Inc in response to their cruel treatment towards rabbits, rats, guinea pigs, and mice. They are asking shoppers to boycott M&M’s, Snickers, Twix, Milky Way, 3 Musketeers, Starburst, Dove, and Skittles. Experiments by Mars included forcing rabbits to eat high cholesterol diets with cocoa, then killing them to cut out the blood vessels to their hearts. Their competitor, Hershey, does not experiment on animals.

eeeeerkkkkkkkk … awful. And Snickers are my favorite. Oh dear. Anybody know what the National Humane Society has to say about this?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention! We will make sure to stop buying their candy!
I’m not sure the HSUS knows yet. Or if they do, they haven’t released a press release yet. They uncovered a lot of designers who are using rabbit fur in their merchandise. =( It’s on their web site— hsus.org

I have started a petition to Mars Inc. about this issue. This petition is separate from the online form on PETA’s MarsCandyKills site to send a letter to Mars Inc.

On the petition webpage, you will find more detailed information from me about the latest developments with this issue/ the info I have posted is more detailed than what PETA’s own site lists. I have been working on this issue as an activist for a few months now.
The petition is growing fast, with almost 600 signatures as of this moment, won’t you please sign and join others who are outraged that Mars Inc. is doing animal testing.
